Animates Taupo - School Holiday Programme - 12th October

Looking for something free to keep the kids entertained these school holidays?

These school holidays Animates has proudly partnered with Kids Safe with Dogs Charitable Trust to educate children on how to safely interact with dogs.

New Zealand currently has a horrifying number of dog bites and by educating children at a young age we aim to reduce this statistic. Children will learn all about Jelly and her nine friends who are key characters that feature throughout the sessions and help explain various real life scenarios to teach children the correct way to approach a situation.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion and no bookings are required, just turn up on the day before 11am.

Taupo Ultra Marathon - 14th October

Join us for the Taupo Ultramarathon along the shores of Great Lake Taupo, New Zealand.

Come tackle the 14 km, 24km, 50km, 74km, 100km or the 100km team's relay option. (While not ultra distances, the 14km and the 24km will give those new to the sport a taste of the experience).

The Taupo Ultramarathon offers runners a once-a-year opportunity to access the spectacular Great Lake Trail uninterrupted over private land. It's an epic journey that showcases the very best of what the Great Lake Taupo region has to offer: lake views, mountain ranges, rivers, waterfalls, and native forest.

Whatever your challenge - whether you are an elite athlete pushing for a personal best, or a first-timer wanting to complete your chosen distance - the Taupo Ultra Marathon is a must-do. Come and challenge yourself on some of the world’s most beautiful trails.

The Topp Twins Heading for The Hills - 20th October

After the sell-out success of their April/May shows New Zealand’s well-loved national treasures are hitting the road again in October bringing their original style of merriment, mayhem and mirth to seven more small towns. The country’s hills will be alive with the sound of laughter!

Armed with guitar, mouth-harp and spoons NZ’s favourite twin sisters change the musical style and gender with ease, delivering original country music, character comedy, burlesque innuendo, audience participation and some of the finest yodelling you’ll hear anywhere.

The Topps’ infamous alter-egos will delight all ages with a memorable up-close and personal evening of fun and fine singing.

Expect the unexpected, and don’t miss a great night of hilarious entertainment guaranteed to have you laughing or crying with “sheer joy” (the Financial Times, London).

New Zealand is one of the most picturesque and photogenic places on earth. A small island nation of less than 4.5 million people. New Zealand is made up of two major land masses, the North Island and the South Island. These islands are divided by a 22km stretch of sea called the Cook Strait, (named after Captain James Cook, the english explorer that discovered New Zealand in 1769.

New Zealand is located in the south west pacific ocean, aproximately 1,500kms southeast of Australia.Due to its relitive remoteness and being water locked, New Zealand is one of the last places on earth to be disovered and settlled.

The country is made up of some of the worlds most spectacular landscapes, from vast mountain ranges to sweeping coastlines, making the perfect background for high budget movies such as Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by Peter Jackson. New Zealand is a natural playground for thrill seekers and adventurers and those who simply just want to visit for the culture and landscapes.
