Tai Chi Classes - 20th Sept

Taupō’s Taoist Tai Chi society is offering the chance to sample one of China’s oldest forms of exercise. Tai Chi was originally created as a fighting art, but is now used to help improve health. The turning and stretching movements increase circulation, flexibility, and strength.

Over time they help reduce anxiety and restore calmness and peace of mind. Beginner Tai Chi classes will be offered on Thursday mornings at the museum as part of Suzhou – Faith and Life.

Sika Show & Competitions 2018 - 29th Sept

The annual Sika Show & Competition is the largest outdoor trade show of its kind in New Zealand.

More than 5000 hunters visit the show each year for the competitions, taxidermy, fun activities, and the latest innovations in hunting and outdoor-related products and services.

2018 is the show's 25th year, and there will be more than 150 exhibitors ranging from outdoor clothing and footwear retailers to shooting suppliers, pest solution specialists, conservation groups, hunting clubs, magazines, guided safari operators, and many others.

It’s going to be a great weekend!

New Zealand is one of the most picturesque and photogenic places on earth. A small island nation of less than 4.5 million people. New Zealand is made up of two major land masses, the North Island and the South Island. These islands are divided by a 22km stretch of sea called the Cook Strait, (named after Captain James Cook, the english explorer that discovered New Zealand in 1769.

New Zealand is located in the south west pacific ocean, aproximately 1,500kms southeast of Australia.Due to its relitive remoteness and being water locked, New Zealand is one of the last places on earth to be disovered and settlled.

This country is made up of some of the worlds most spectacular landscapes, from vast mountain ranges to sweeping coastlines, making the perfect background for high budget movies such as Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by Peter Jackson. New Zealand is a natural playground for thrill seekers and adventurers and those who simply just want to visit for the culture and landscapes.
