These Glass Coasters are all made from glass and are VERY carefully and SECURELY packaged suitable for National and International delivery. Coasters traditionally have been used for putting drinks on to preserve table tops from both the heat and moisture of the bottom of a cup or glass. In recent times however coasters have become a very desirable collectable item often serving as a reminder of a holiday or a gift from a loved one. These coasters all come bundled in quantities of four unless otherwise stated and have small transparent rubber feet. The presentation of the packaging is exemplary and most suitable as a gift. This pack of four glass coasters has images (left to right) of the Pohutukawa Flower, the Cabbage Tree, the Fern Frond, and the Toi Toi Plant.
The fern frond unfurls to become the fern leaf which New Zealanders hold dear as an unofficial icon. There are silver fern flags and lots of apparel with the silver fern emblem on including our All Blacks rugby team as they have the silver fern emblem sewn into the top left of their rugby shirts. The cabbage tree was traditionally used for food as its very sweet. The long fibre leaves were used for weaving and were often boiled and used for medicinal purposes. The Pohutukawa tree flowers from November through to January peaking around December and because if its bright coloured flowers is affectionately known as the New Zealand Christmas tree.
